LOTUS HYPER OS 1.5.1

Lotus has just released a new update of Hyper OS which includes a number of udates requested by users including ambient lighting in the base model and a quick access button to the driving aids. See release notes below:

LOTUS HYPER OS 1.5.1

• A short cut has been added to the main screen, allowing quick access to Driving Aids settings.
• Expected state of charge now shown in the ETA widget.
• Optimised battery pre-conditioning to include navigation information.
• Category search suggestions now offered, using key words from the user.
• Information simplified and spatial filter around destination removed in the traffic incidents menu.
• Lane guidance in the head-up display now synchronises with the main navigation system.
• Route Settings - saves preferences for route mapping
• Bug fixes
• White ambient lighting is now available for all Eletre models
• Heads Up Display has been optimised to now offer imperial units, when showing navigation route.
• Front Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking have been optimised to avoid false positive detection for parked cars scenarios.
• Adaptive Cruise Control and Highway Assist Functions have been optimised to avoid false positive detection for parked cars scenarios.
• Notifications for the PM2.5 level in the car have been optimised.
• Improvement to DAB+ radio reception.
• Media playback will resume automatically after voice command or other audio prompt.
• New versions of Lotus Apps available for download, please install updates from App store.

Have managed to update my car which is a base model and the updates are well received!

See pictures of the key changes:
- quick access button to driving aids on top right
- Ambient lighting on base model, meant to be white as reported by most users.. for some reason mine is coloured (pink/purple tone) The main lightbar is white on the sides and Pink/Purple in the middle and it fades all the way across. Also in door sides. Can be switched on or off in settings, no other options for base.
- HUD now in miles and yards when you select that in settings

Not sure why mine got it earlier than others! .. Maybe they are slowly assigning it to vehicles.. I left if plugged in to the charger, that seemed to trigger to update it last time too

From what I can see others are getting white.. something seems to have happened to mine, but I don't mind

I'm hoping Lotus will let you add the customizable ambient lighting at some point.. couldn't get it as I went for a stock car!

It's pretty neat. We only got it because we went for a stock car and it was included but the kids love choosing a colour when we get in.

I also installed update 1.5.1u today. The changes are not that significant.
The ‘shortcut’ to switch off the speed warning and lane keep assist also has little added value. This only saves you 1 click. This only takes you directly to the safety menu. Both options still have to be switched off manually (including confirmation); disappointing!
I have already reported this in the app via feedback in the hope that this will be adjusted. One option could be a button that can be programmed by the driver himself or otherwise switch off both safety systems immediately. Other (premium) brands (BMW, Audi, Mercedes) do this better!
If you agree with this, I request that you also report this via the app. The more requests Lotus receives, the more likely they will do something about it.

I have a Tesla in the family and updates are so easy, they just happen min the background - however a nightmare with Lotus. Like last time for 15.0 it gets to around 8.5gb and then stops. An hour of resetting both soft and factory and it got to 9.1gb but unlike last time when I coaxed it to the end this time no lot it just has stopped and I can get it no further. I have WiFi and have tried using the phone but no joy. Any clues ?

Agreed it can be a bit tricky to download the full update!

I found it easier to connect the car to my phone hot-spot and download it on my way back from work.. was still a bit left when I got home so just left the door slightly ajar with it still connected to my phone.. then went back to it every 10 mins and touched the screen to stop it going to sleep.

I'm sure the previous update downloaded overnight while the car was charging.

I assume it will get easier with future updates!
