Hi all,

I'm in the prototyping phase for a storage solution to use the space under the Eletre center console.

Have 3D scanned the space and am now on v5 of the 3d printed prototypes!

Have gone down the route of splitting the space into three sections, this allows me to make spaces that are big enough for every day items but not too big so things move around.

I have designed it with the idea of it being a modular system. So the three sections are independent and I will design and produce atleast two options for each section. That way you can choose the design that most suits you!

In the first main design the front section has 2 slots, this can fit sunglasses or be used for loose change. Me and my wife keep our sunglasses in the car so we would likely have a slot each. This module will also have a lid.

Middle section has 2 sections and can again be used for sunglasses, mini umbrella, handcreams etc.

Section at the back is open for any items not suitable for the other sections.

These will all be lined in alcantara, made by the same factory that produce the keycovers.

Welcome your thoughts and any ideas for modules!

Thanks

Pleased to attach photos and video of the first samples made!

You will see this is made out of alcantara, same colour as the Grey Alcantara Keycovers i make (Very close colour match to what is used in the Lotus Eletre

You will notice they are made in three sections, which are held together using magnets. This makes it easier to get them in and out of the centre console.

Note the top section is planned to have a lid, just not done for the initial sample. The top and middle section are designed to be able to store sunglasses, so they can be stored in any of these sections. Handy for me; so me and the wife can keep a pair in the car!

Note these are still with the supplier, arranging shipping to me now so that i can check fitment.

Welcome your thoughts!

I have been asked about pricing..

That's the next task now that they have been able to produce samples and see the material and labour requirements.

Pricing is difficult without knowing how many roughly people would buy.. as there's significant initial costs for sample making, tooling and molds (Molds for the three pieces are estimated around £2.5k).

I am aiming to achieve a price of £200 if I can get sufficient interest to show people would buy it.

I have now created a poll at the top of this thread, would appreciate if people could respond on that so i can get a better idea of who is interested :)

Many thanks!
